BIO

Simone Ginther (b. 1994, Dornbirn) is an Austrian contemporary painter and printmaker based in Imst. She is best known for her minimal abstract works on wood and linen, executed with acrylics in hard-edged, matte-finished compositions. Her practice is defined by the interplay of geometric and organic shapes, which establish a refined balance of form, color, and structure. Through this visual language, Ginther has developed a distinctive presence within the field of contemporary abstraction.

Her art is characterized by organic structures, clear lines, and balanced compositions, emphasizing simplicity and the appreciation of reused materials in an increasingly fast-paced world. Since 2019, she has been working in a phase of exploration focused on clean forms in solid colors, a body of work that remains ongoing as she continues to refine her investigation of color and shape. This long-term project highlights her sustained interest in abstraction as both a personal and formal inquiry, underscoring the meditative and enduring qualities of her practice.

Ginther’s work has been exhibited in several notable presentations. In 2023, she held her solo exhibition WERKSCHAU at Lehn7 Galerie in Imst, Austria, followed by her participation in the 2024 group exhibition graffiti & unplugged at Kulturverein Siegmundsried in Ried im Oberinntal. In 2025, her practice gained further visibility with exhibitions at LawinenGALERIE in Donnersbachwald, Austria, and Memento Laas at ParaBel Artspace in Laas, Italy. In autumn 2025, she will present a major solo exhibition at Kulturbogen 55 in Innsbruck, Austria, which marks a significant milestone in her artistic trajectory. Her works are represented in private collections across Austria, Denmark, Germany, Portugal, and the United States, reflecting both regional and international recognition of her contribution to contemporary painting and printmaking.
